Latin name: Populous tremuloides

Origin: Central/North America and Europe (French)

Characteristics: Very light-brown to almost snow white in color. Generally available in flat cut.  Grain has a very soft subtle texture and it is a fairly soft wood. Some logs develop a beautiful mottle figure and can be streaked with pink, orange, and golden colors.

Uses: Architectural woodwork and fine furniture.
