Latin name: Prunus avium

Origin: Europe and Southern Asia

Characteristics:  Color varies from warm reddish-orange to pale pinkish-brown, sometimes containing slight olive streaks. Texture is very fine. Not widely available or sought after in North America.

Uses: Architectural woodwork and fine furniture.
