Characteristics: Heartwood is a deep red to pink. Wood is very dense and durable and the texture is very fine. Availability is good and generally in plain sliced. Because of the similar appearance to the Honduras Mahogany tree, Jarrah was once called Swan River mahogany after the river system that runs through Perth.
Use: Architectural woodwork, furniture and musical instruments.
