Origin: Africa
Characteristics: Heartwood is a medium chocolate-brown to gold with grayish-black striping. Grain is plain and contrasting much like Teak. Some logs develop an intense large scale broken figure. Most logs have a light figure and it is difficult to find logs that are dead plain. Can be somewhat limited in lengths over 9’.
Use: Architectural woodwork and fine furniture.
