Origin: Africa

Characteristics: Heartwood varies widely in color from golden-yellow to reddish-brown. Grain is usually interlocked and can sometimes be wavy, or display a variety of figuring. Texture is medium with small pores. Very limited in availability.

Use: Architectural woodwork, fine furniture and cabinetry.
