Origin: Europe

Characteristics: Heartwood is pinkish-red “blush” in color with very fine soft texture. Somewhat limited in availability. Most logs are figured and finding plain material can be difficult. Unlike most species the plain material sells for more than the figured. Quarters can be difficult to find in high quality and decent width.

Use: Architectural woodwork and fine furniture.
