Redwood Burl

Characteristics: Also, known as ‘Vavona Burl’ the color is deep red. Redwood is a protected species, making the root burls of old or naturally fallen trees the only source. Veneers are relatively fragile and can be differentiated into two types. Lace type is a very small scale tight burl with very intense eyes. Bud type has darkly pronounced dots or “buds” that are scattered over the surface similar to but larger in scale than Bird’s Eye Maple.
Use: Architectural woodwork, fine furniture and dashboards.
