Origin: Japan, China
Characteristics: Uniformly olive- white to yellowish-brown in color. A very fine tight grained wood that is very limited in production and whose look is hard to replicate in specie. Demand is generally for the quarter sliced. Freshly cut wood has an unpleasant odor and veneer tends to buckle and may require careful pressing.
Use: Architectural woodwork and furniture.
