Tamo Ash is a form of Japanese Ash prized for its combination of intense figure and grain movement. Growing predominantly on the Northern Japanese Island of Hokkaido., many attribute the intense, almost 3-D, figuring to the combination of cold winter weather and strong wind on the island.
